I just got home from SXSW last night but sunday morning I woke up feeling like death. I had to battle though because Sabbath In The Park was going down. Breakfast tacos were the best way to get some strength so we stopped at the Torchy’s Tacos truck on South First in Austin for some. I decided I wanted an only bacon taco and that’s what I got. Last month DJ Bo Bliz, some ladies, and your’s truely decided to eat off our hangovers after a night on the town in Charm City. The results - Bliz’ chili cheese filled omlet over pankcakes, topped with onion rings, bacon and syrup.
My 3 eggs, steak, potatoes, bacon, onion rings, and oysters order crushed it in sheer magnitude, but lacked in the ingenuity department. +1 Bliz
Inspired by Grocery’s Good Morning Burger, I thought some of you might enjoy standup comedian Patton Oswalt’s infamous “Black Angus” routine. I’m doing the design and illustration work for the vinyl reissue of his “Feelin’ Kinda Patton” album which contains this routine, and here’s the accompanying artwork for said routine…
“We take eighteen ounces of sizzling ground beef, and soak it in rich, creamery butter, then we top it off with bacon, ham, and a fried egg. We call it the Good Morning Burger.”
Three strips of bacon and one whole jalapeno, sliced length-wise were placed into the vodka chamber tonight. Sarah said, “the fat rising to the top of the bottle looks like a lava lamp”. Brunch at our place in three weeks!
